Microsoft should not rely on Windows over and over again as its mainstay technology product. Final success of Windows seems to have been predicted by Microsoft itself and it means Microsoft must begin a new software development project as new generation after Windows.
Introducing Midori which is reported to have much different concept with Windows. If Windows used to support one computer for one person as Bill Gate’s vision, Midori will be centralized to the Internet, can be accessed anytime, anywhere, with any device. Midori runs on the platform of hardware x86, x64, and ARM and works on the Windows Hyper-V hypervisor.
Windows is very appropriate in the days when each people use one computer device for all their work. As an operating system, its function is very dependent on each unit of hardware. Meanwhile, Midori is not only overcome the limitation of device specification but also more flexible to mobile users.
However, there has been no explanation of whether Midori will replace Windows or not. But actually Midori becomes one of Microsoft incubation project and still in completion. Later, Midori may be is the answer for virtualization technology challenges into a new modern computing. If so, Midori may be directed to the computer as the platform business.
