Facebook VS Myspace, Flash Platform Integration to Social Network
Facebook published its current cooperation with Adobe System. It allows developers for Flash application to social network. With the latest ActionScript 3.0 client library, Adobe offers a resource for Flash platform application in Facebook and Facebook Connect’s products. Adobe will also promote Flash integration with Facebook’s API (Application Programming Interface) in Facebook website.
Adobe’s tools will help developer for collaborative platforms unification. ActionScript 3.0’s library client allows flash application developer make better sample and documentation for their sites. Flash is an important part of Facebook, 12 out of 20 Facebook’s application developed in Flash platform. Since it is considered as open source, ActionScript 3.0 library is freely distributed for independent developer with lack of resource and skills for code integration or Facebook and Flash.
This released is a big punch for Facebook competitors - MySpace who’s already collaborate with Microsoft for Silverlight integration in their developer’s platform. Ironically, Microsoft had invested $240 millions for Facebook’s shares. Those collaborations, Both Microsoft-MySpace and Facebook – Adobe Flash are going to be one of hot issues in Web 2.0Expo in San Francisco, March 31 to April 3, 2009.
