NASA Satellite Fell in Antarctica
Find out more about
A tragic reality came on NASA on last Tuesday (24/2), when its newest satellite that they have worked on the last nine years, failed on orbiting and fell on the freezing sea of Antarctica.
This 278 million dollar NASA Satellite was actually designed to monitor the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission on earth globally. This satellite is one of NASA’s efforts to handle the global warming that becomes more threatening to the world.
NASA launched the satellite using Taurus XL rocket. However a few minutes later, the part of the cone on the nose of the satellite that protect the satellite on the launching, was failed to release perfectly.
According to John Brunschwyler, the Program Director who handles this matter, the early presumption shows that this satellite was not strong enough to reach orbit, so that it fell on Antarctica Sea.
